Subject: Public Statements Made Yesterday

Comment: After hearing about the very small changes that the panel wants to make to our tax code, I decided I had to write and say how disappointed I am. The tax system today is broke and to only put a $300,000 limit on home interest deductions and increase taxes on business is NOT a fundamental change in our tax code. I would suggest to eliminate the tax code all together and put in its place a consumption tax. Why should we tax someones earnings or success? We all know more people need to save in our country and this would be a great first step! I want HR Bill 25 to pass, and can't the Federal Tax Reform Commission step up to the plate and put something forward that a fundamental change in how we collect taxes in this country?
