Subject: tax reform Comment: I strongly believe that the current tax code is unfair and unworkable. I feel that a national sales tax such as the Fair Tax proposal, although not perfect, would be a huge improvement. It would make the taxes paid by citizens transparent, it would stimulate business and job growth, and it would eliminate the huge cost of compliance we currently have. It would also pick up money from the underground economy and make the payment of taxes voluntary. Tnis type of tax will only work, however if the IRS is eliminated, and all of the tax laws it enforces are eliminated also. Please consider this type of tax, even though it a radical departure from what we currently have. For the long term, it is the best way to go. Respectfully, Dan Schoen |
