Subject: Fair Tax

Comment: I support the Fair Tax. I believe a consumption based tax, along with the elimination of the income tax, is a more stable, cost effective, and yes, FAIR way to tax the American public. It is revenue neutral and much simpler to administer. The IRS would virtually be eliminated. April 15 would be just another day. Americans would take home 100% of their paychecks; the increased purchasing power alone would stimulate the economy into the stratosphere.

It saddens me however, that the tax reform panel is not given this well researched, economist backed plan the credit it deserves. (That means you Connie Mack)

From taxnews.com: Lobby group Americans for Fair Taxation wants a flat consumption tax levied at 23% with exemptions for those on low incomes. But it doesn't sound as if Panel Chairman, Republican Senator Connie Mack, is open to such innovative ideas. "If this is such a great idea, why haven't other political entities around the world pursued it?" he asked.

In closing: Mr Mack, America shouldn't have to 'copy' what other countries are doing. American ingenuity; lets try to remember what that is!
