Subject: Fair Tax Over Others

Comment: After hearing the Flat Tax presentation, June 3rd, I am convinced the FairTax will not entail the difficulty of transition, will end taxpayer frustration with rules and regulations, and will be widely accepted by the vast majority of taxpayers.

The FairTax is the only proposal presented to the panel that does not impose some form of taxation on corporations and businesses. The other proposals will require endless and costly record keeping and continue to invite tax avoidance and hide true taxation costs from the taxpayers

The FairTax recommends repealing the 16th Amendment (or income tax code), corporate and self-employment taxation, and the “regressive” payroll tax. By repealing these taxes, America’s producers can price their products more competitively for the market place over seas and here at home. America’s work force will take home 100% of their income checks, gifts and inheritances (less any state withholdings). They can now regulate how much they pay in taxes by making wise purchasing decisions for their individual family‘s needs without government intervention.
