Comment: To: Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform

Thank you for this chance to comment. Although I've been one of millions
who have never responded to a call for imput concerning government issues,
my belief on this issue is so strong that I'm compelled to make my opinion
known. I feel that present tax laws are obsolete and unfairly biased
favoring certain groups of citizens.

Of possible alternatives to present tax laws, a consumption tax seems the
most just and simple. People whose earnings are at the subsistence level
should be given a refund at year's end. "Subsistence level" would be
determined by using a formula established by Government. Government coffers
would receive more funds by eliminating present individual personal
exemptions and unessential government personnel now dealing with income
taxes.

Whatever the outcome, I hope that this important reform issue will show that
our government representatives really represent the best interest of the
"common man" and not of special interest groups.
