Past tax reform efforts have only ADDED MORE pages to an already incredibly complicated tax code, while doing little for ordinary folks. Eliminate the self-employment tax 8. Eliminate corporate taxes that are passed to consumers (imbedded) in the cost of their goods. The FAIRTAX is a simple sales tax on all new goods and services purchased at retail. The amount of the FAIRTAX would be only enough to “replace” the old taxes. The final cost of all new goods and services will essentially remain about the same. And with 100% of your paycheck - all pre-tax dollars - you will have more to spend.
