Subject: Fair Tax Bill

Comment: Ladies and Gentlemen,
Though there has been much discussion on income tax reform since President Bush was elected to office, I have only seen one piece of proposed legislation that seems complete and logical, the Fair Tax plan. It appears to make more sense to me than any other idea I have heard. It addresses necessities, as well as simplification and reduction of the income tax structure. It seems many politicians on the left side of the aisle speak of "fairness," but is it truly "fair" to punish those that achieve the highest levels of success. Those same politicians complain of overtaxation of the middle and lower class, yet they propose "sin" taxes, taxes on petroleum products, and corporate income tax. Taxes that are always passed along to the lower and middle class. It just makes sense that if taxes on income are inevitable, then people should be taxed according to how they spend, not how they earn.
