Subject: Federal Tax Reform

Comment: To be an egalitarian society all members must be equally involved in as many aspects of government as possible. Under the current so-called progressive tax scheme this is not the case. An equal opportunity for taxation should exist at all economic levels as it gives all residents a feeling of participation. The only way to ensure this is by a broad- based consumption or sales tax which exempts only food and the necessaries - clothing and shelter. There should be no other exemptions for any reason. In this manner all share in their investment in government. A huge bureaucracy of tax lawyers and CPAs will no longer be necessary and the federal government will be more efficient.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my opinion.
