Having lived in several locations throughout the US, I’ve always wondered why there is no differentiation in federal taxes based on where you live. In other words, $100k/year in New York City should not be taxed in the same manner as $100k in Peoria, Illinois given the severe difference in cost of living. I felt richer when I was making $60k/year in Atlanta than I do making $100k in New York. |
