Comment: Hi, I have been a taxpayer for over 50 years. I have always completed my own income tax 1040's. I used to complete it by hand in one afternoon. When turbo tax came into use I, completed my joint tax return in one 8 hour day and understood most of what I did. Since the last simplification of the tax code I now take three days to complete our joint return. I then go back and check my printed return and redo any obvious ridiculous problems and sign and send in my return. I now have no idea of what I am doing and hope that Turbo tax has done everything right. I have a Master degree in MBA in finance and have several courses on accounting. The one year that I hired a "professional", I learned the following year that the professional did not take obvious deductions and figured my depreciation wrong. THE CURRENT TAX CODE IS RIDICULOUS AND UNFAIR TO THE AVERAGE TAXPAYER. Please repeal the 16 nth amendment and implement the Fair tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim Levine jimcapeboca@earthlink.net |
