Subject: Social Security Benefits

Comment: Sirs/Mesdames.. I would really like any further reform to include the rescission of the increased taxing level of SSA benefits. I fully understand taxing 50% of the benefits as they were not taxed when the employer deposited. The other 50% taken from my pay was taxed. When I was building my 403cs and my IRA I was told I would be withdrawing at a lower tax rate when I retire. Because we were prudent enough to put funds away, to retire without a mortgage and have not other long standing debts we are now paying more tax than when working.

Why should the SSA funds be taxed twice.

My Canadian in-laws were promised the rescission or diminution of the sales tax when the VAT was introduced. Take a good look, it didn't happen. Any attempt to find a replacement revenue stream has to have the pro quid pro written directly into it.
