Subject: taxing health benefits Comment: I would like to comment that I believe that taxing the employer paid health benefits is one of the worst ideas I have heard at this time. I work in the insurance business helping small business design and obtain health plans. I see the struggles that employers and employees have with the high cost of helath insurance now. Taxing these benefits will just increase the number of uninsureds because they will find it even less affordable that it is now. Incentives need to be provided to employers to pay for more benefits to reduce the number of uninsureds, not the other way around. I would suggest spending cuts in many of the unnecessary programs taht exist in this country rather than placing the tax burdon on small business and working people. Thank you. |
