Hello: I suggest you leave things as they are for the following reasons:
-We are all familiar with the status quo and if it is tinkered with further,
it could get more complex.
-For those of us who have paid income taxes for the past 50 years, switching
to a consumtion tax would be prohibitively expensive.
-I use to travel in Europe extensively, and their VAT system frankly stinks,
so please don't consider that as away to reform.
-I did my own taxes pencil and paper as recently as the early '90's, but the
advent of the computer tax programs made it so
easy and affordable so I switched. In the past few years I have been using
the web-based programs and only pay $9.95 to do
fairly complicated tax returns, so once again, I vote for keeping the system
the way it is. Thank you.
