Subject: FairTax

Comment: I just wanted to take the time to say that I hope you recommend the FairTax, as does every other person that I've discussed taxes with. This proposal works for the American people on so many levels. With meaning no disrespect, my fear is that this panel may shrink from leadership required for what is necessary and best for America. You have an amazing opportunity to do so much for this country. I pray you make that stand. While I could write for hours on the great features of the FairTax, being entrusted with enormous responsibility, I expect you know this bill very well. I will only mention an area that is not covered often but I believe may hold one of the greatest impacts of the FairTax. Our trade deficit is out of control. Not only does this affect American jobs and U.S. economics, but it provides those jobs, economics, intelligence, technology and power to other countries. Countries like China with the population, resources, and desire to overtake the United States as a world power. It is important to National Security and the American people, that you reduce this trade deficit. The FairTax goes a long way toward this goal and many others. While change is difficult, I urge you really consider the long term interests of this country. I’m confident that you will find the FairTax is the best plan for America’s future. Thank you for your time and service.
