Subject: REAL Tax Reform

Comment: I am greatly disappointmented regarding the forthcoming recommendations of the Tax Reform Panel. Details of your are beginning to emerge. Rather than true tax reform, you are recommending tinkering around the edges. By the time Congress finishes with the tinkering, who knows how many more pages and complexity will be added to the tax code. We need to remove the influence of the IRS lobbyists and K-Street special interests from the tax code.

Also, the proper purpose of tax code is to raise revenue necessary for the necessary and authorized functions of government - NOT for
authoritarian social engineering.

I urge you to redo your report and instead propose replacing the Federal Tax Code with the Fair Tax. This is the only proposal that meets the objectives set out by President Bush. It has been researched more than any other proposal and has strong support amongst the public.

Please do not disappoint us. The time for true tax reform is now.
