Subject: Federal Tax Reform

Comment: I am in favor of collecting federal sales tax on items purchased instead of the method in which taxes are collected now. The income tax of today is a nightmare. I spend so much time keeping records and then pulling all the information together to go over with my tax advisor every year. It is so complicated and unsettling, and completely avoidable. Collecting through sales tax makes better sense. It would do away with the temptation some people feel to hide income, the government could save millions of dollars because it wouldn't need the IRS of today, we wouldn't spend hours and hundreds of dollars on tax returns ;and best of all, life (which is already complicated enough) would be much simplier. That's got to be a better way.
