Comment: The current income tax is not only grossly unfair, it is illegal. It needs change. The simplest thing to do is to eliminate income the income tax all together. Replace it with a 5% sales tax ACROSS THE BOARD on ALL purchases. This would be much fairer. Forget about a 7% to 10% sales tax on certain items and those in the poverty level getting a waiver from the tax. That's just too much of a hassle and you'll find people who can certainly afford to pay 10% finding a way to get the waiver just the way you find people who can certainly get jobs staying on welfare. A 5% across the board sales tax is extremely fair.

What will then be done with the Internal Revenue Service? Simply, they will be delegated to doing what they were required to do in the first place: collect excise taxes on liquor, tobacco, and firearms.

No matter how you structure an income tax, it will be unfair. The fact of the matter, when people see more money in their pay check, they'll begin to buy more. That will boost the economy thus promoting more jobs --- and you know how the American consumer buying public loves to spend.

One more thing. The Constitution states that all money collected in taxes is to be used for the upkeep of the infrastructure of THIS country. No where in the Constitution does it say that American tax money is to be given away to other countries. I really resent having any portion of my money given away in "foreign aid," especially, to a country like Saudi Arabia ($7 billion???!!!!!) that is going to bleed us dry with those ridiculously over-inflated oil prices. The excuse that was given for over 50 years was to protect the world from Communism doesn't work today. So, now what does Congress do? Just GIVE away the AMERICAN TAXPAYER'S money. Keep our money here.
