Subject: Fairest and best tax system

Comment: Hello~
I strongly favor a national sales tax. This form of tax system would greatly enhance revenues, as it would be MUCH more difficult for people to cheat. It would also provide a great incentive for people to save and invest, as there would be a much greater potential for tax free growth of funds than is possible under the current system.
The system would be fair because people who spend, "users" in the system, would support government services. The "rich" would pay more into the system, as they would make more purchases and more "luxury" purchases.
The two biggest problems with this system would be to overcome the objections of those who are heavily invested in the current system. CPAs and tax lawyers would find the need for their services greatly diminished, because the tax code would no longer be so complicated that they are needed. Second, initially, it might be difficult to predict revenues and to deal with market fluctuations. I believe that this latter problem would quickly be overcome, because I am strongly convinced that overall revenues will increase dramatically.
I am not sure how to address the first problem. CPAs and lawyers presumably are bright enough to find another line of work that could be of more benefit to the country as a whole than to interpret and try to evade arcane revenue statutes.

The biggest benefits, aside from the increased revenue in government coffers would be to move to a system that encourages investment and reinvestment. This system would transform America from a country of spenders to a country of savers. This would have enormous positive impacts on our country and its people.
Thank you for your consideration!
