Subject: Forgive and Forget? Comment: October 12, 2005 Members of the President’s Panel on Tax Reform, Today I learned of your decision to NOT recommend the National Retail Sales Tax as a replacement for the corrupt, socialist Federal Income Tax. I find it difficult to understand whether your failure to do the right thing after months of study and millions of dollars of taxpayer money is due to corruption or spinelessness or both. I guess it really doesn’t matter which, the end result is the same, a committee on reform that reforms nothing, and in fact makes matters worse. Your decision highlights the ineptitude of all things governmental and amounts to a betrayal of the American people. May the Good Lord forgive you for your betrayal because I certainly will not. C.
