Subject: tax reform proposal

Comment: It is interesting that a proposal from a tax REFORM panel proposes to increase the involvment of the IRS in the tax process and decrease the average citizens active oversite of his or her own money going to Washington.
I am speaking of the idea of having the IRS mail statements for what we owe each year. This is another way of taking us out of the process of knowing how much of our money is being taxed. We already have a paycheck garnering system to do that. Bettern for each of us to have to write a check 4 times a year to the US treasury. Then many more would all be clamoring for reform and a tidal wave of complaint would reach your ears.
I would suggest that tax REFORM means simplifying the process, creating a fair and equitable rate for everyone, closing loop holes and not penalizing citizens for their success. Moreover, don't penalize investments. That is the life blood of business in this country.
IN adddition, how about a statement each year detailing how our money was spent. That sounds ridiculous of course because it would require a 100lb+ package mailed to all citizens. That is just the point, it's too complex! NO "company" is less accountable for their finances than the members the House and Senate because.
It always seems that the reform ideas are only on the collection side, how about the spending side. And get rid of off line budgeting, what a ridiculous and corrupt concept.
Please SIMPLIFY the tax code.
Sincerely
Susan Quigley DVM
