Subject: Retail Sales Tax

Comment: Please consider implementing the FairTax plan. Read "The FairTax Book" and HR 25 before you make your recommendations to the President. This is the only way to boost our economy and remove the ridiculous burden of filing an income tax "form" (more like book) from our citizens. My husband is a Navy Civilian employee and I work part time and make less money than he does, but every year we are afraid we will be presented with a huge unexpected bill from the IRS in April. If people who live in a flood zone, for example, are not smart enough to buy flood insurance, how can they be smart enough to fill out their income tax form? I would rather have a voluntary sales tax system that is FAIR and EASY to understand. If you pay as you go, you don't have to worry about every single financial decision you make for your family during a year and how it will impact you at tax time. Please THROW OUT THE INCOME TAX and make life a little easier for everyone. The FairTax plan is a wonderful way to detax the poor, as well.
Thanks, Sharon Glaab
