Subject: Fairtax Comment: Dear Panel Members, I am so glad to see that our government is finally taking a serious look at fixing a tax that is so cumbersome and so complex that it makes crooks out of people who want to do nothing more than pay their fair share. I am strongly in favor of the Fairtax proposal. Never before have I seen a law so simple yet so effective. I think this proposal would be a major improvement in our tax collection. This proposal actually captures tax on illegal income by taxing at consumption. People that previously didn't pay any income tax, such as drug dealers, but spent lavishly, will now be providing some of the tax revenue to help foot the cost of the law enforcement required to try to capture them. I think this is a beautiful proposal and I hope that you will agree with so many economists who say that this Fairtax proposal is the perfect plan for our nations tax revenue.
