Subject: Oh, for pity's sake! (And why do you need to know my state?) Comment: You all are part of the problem! WE don't need a PANEL to tell US that there is a problem with the tax system, for heaven's sake! Anyone with any bit of sense does not need 10-page comments to tell them how to fix it. People, real people, honest-to-god PEOPLE, as opposed to politicians, panels, and alleged experts, KNOW how to fix the problem. STOP SPENDING. STOP TAXING. LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS. Stop treating the taxpayer like a bottomless money pit. TREAT EVERYONE ALIKE, poor, rich, individuals, corporations. And do NOT, repeat NOT, TAKE MORE THAN 10% of earnings. (If we tithe to our churches at 10%, why should GOVT get MORE? Bush Republicans are so damn determined to destroy the separation of church and state, maybe they should start here!) The income tax has become Government control of the People. It is Govt-sanctioned theft! Government has NO RIGHT to the wages of honest working people. Any tax system with forms that require two days to fill out is BAD! JUST SAY NO! A national sales tax would equalize the playing field and give control back to the wage-earners as to how their money will be spent. A one-page form: "How much did you make? Send us 10%" would be a responsible alternative. NO tax thugs. The honor system. In conjunction, Congress should give up its self-given riches and the budget should not be longer than the Bible or even than the Constitution. REIN IT IN, PEOPLE! IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!
