Subject: Sales tax vs. flat tax Comment: I believe a National sales tax such as outlined in Hr25 and S25 would be much better for the US than a flat income tax. 1. Taxes would be collected from visitors, not just resident income earners. 2. I have not seen any provisions in the flat tax proposals that would guarantee the flat tax stayed flat. HR25/S25 would repeal withholding and the income tax mechanism(i.e. the IRS) without having to repeal the entire income tax constitutional amendment. |
