Subject: Fairtax

Comment: I am a taxpaying, voting citizen of the state of Georgia. I agree that the current, income tax, is a broken system to fund the federal government and needs to be replaced. It is very complicated and costly to be compliant. I know that most people who own businesses, invest in equities, buy equipment for their businesses, buy or sell real estate, all will do so when the tax implications are most favorable. A whole industry has formed around income tax code compliance. Many hours and dollars are spent to minimize the impact of the regressive income tax code that is like a yoke on the American economy and its citizens. Just look at the size of the lobby groups operating in Washington, D.C. All lobbying Senators and Congress men and women to introduce legislation to give his or her industry a favorable sentence in the disturbingly, large and complicated income tax code. It is way past time to rid ourselves of the cumbersome income tax code and deliver to the people of the United States a Fairtax. Our economy and country will prosper enourmously when we repeal the 16th amendment, and enact the Fairtax.

Thank you for the opportunity to voice and opinion.

Sincerely,

Michael Russell
