Comment: Dear Panel:

I'm in favor of total tax code replacement. Not just "reform". And here is
why:

Our present federal tax structure is getting close to 100 years old. It's
been through many, many changes; and with every new change, or adjustment,
it becomes further enlarged and more complex --- more difficult to
understand and administer fairly. I compare it to an automobile. When it's
new, it may run fine. But the older it gets, the more repairs it takes to
operate it efficiently, until at some point it's just too worn out and needs
to be junked. That's the stage we are at now with the Federal IRS Income Tax
Code. Who, in his right mind, would want to be driving a 100 year old
automobile today? I believe it's time to change our entire tax system. In
looking around for a good replacement, I have found none better than the new
FairTax bill, HR-25 and the Senate copy, S-25. Our society has changed,
along with economics and technology, over the years. We need a tax system
worthy of the 21st Century. And if you will just read the FairTax bill, I
think you will agree with me that it's the fairest, simplest and best tax
bill that our nation has ever come up with. And I credit our "nation" with
this effort. I say this because the FairTax was created through a marketing
process in which the public had input in its design. What other tax bill can
you say that about? Then there are the debates and opinion polls. Did you
know the FairTax has won every debate and poll where it was explained and
understood correctly? At one point, I counted up about 47 good reasons for
replacing the income tax with the FairTax. I couldn't think of a single good
reason to keep an income tax of any type, including a Flat income tax.

There is no question in my mind that we need to replace the income tax with
the FairTax. Not to do so will be to ignore and miss the best opportunity
we will have to create for this new century a better, more dynamic, stronger
economy based on shifting the tax burden from a person's paycheck to the
cash register.

Please support the FairTax. And may God bless you and America.
