Subject: FREE TV FOR CANDIDATES

I am writing to urge you to mandate that digital broadcaster to provide

ample free TV time to political candidates.

If polticians did not have to pay crazy amounts of money for TV time it

would have many positive impacts. First, it would help to get big money out

of the American political arena. It would also create a more politically

informed public and improve the level of debate between candidates. In

addition, it would increase the audience of third party and independent

candidates resulting in more competition for public offices.

Virtually every democracy in the world gives free and reduced TV time to

candidates and it is time the greatest democracy in the world came up to pace.

I urge the Committee to support a requirement for free TV for candidates,

and look forward to hearing your response.
