Subject:   public comment, free TV for candidates


I am writing to urge you to require digital broadcasters to provide
free or reduced cost air time to candidates for public office.

It's unfortunate that so many Americans today are apathetic about
politics.  I believe that one of the main reasons for this apathy is
the lack of substance in today's political campaigns.

Big money rules political campaigns, because candidates are forced to
raise huge amounts of money  to share their views with the electorate.
 Usually, this turns into a 30 second propaganda ad, that often times
does not even picture the candidate that it is in support of. 

Broadcasters are using our publicly owned airwaves to make a huge
profit from our election cycles.  Although broadcasters will argue
that giving away
