NATIONAL GAMBLING IMPACT STUDY COMMISSION
TO HEAR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FINAL REPORT


WHO: The National Gambling Impact Study Commission
   
WHAT: Full Commission meeting to hear recommendations from Subcommittees and interested organizations regarding the Commission's Final Report. The Final Report is due to the President, Congress, State governors, and Tribal leaders by June 20, 1999.
   
WHEN: Monday, February 8, 1999; 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, February 9, 1999; 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 10, 1999; 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
   
WHERE:   Meetings will be conducted in the Law and Government Building at Regent University located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

ALSO: This two and one-half day retreat will be dedicated to discussing recommendations from outside organizations and Commission Subcommittees for possible inclusion into the Final Report. Commissioners will hear from as mant as fifteen organizations and will discuss with each its concerns and recommendations.

Commissioners are scheduled to hear research findings from the Commission's major research contractor, the National Opinion Research Center. In addition, the full Commission will hear findings and possible recommendations from both the Indian Gambling Subcommittee and the Regulation, Enforcement, and Internet Subcommittee.
