Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce
Will Hold Teleconference Call to Review Work Plan

Meeting to be Audiocast on World Wide Web

August 26, 1999 -- Arlington, VA -- The Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce today announced a September 7, 1999 teleconference meeting at 2:00 p.m. EDT to review the recommendations proposed by its Work Plan Subcommittee. Commission members will discuss plans to move forward and finalize the process by which the Commission will make its report to Congress.

"As much as possible, the Commission wants the public to view its work in progress," said Governor James S. Gilmore III, chairman of the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce. "It is the goal of the Commission to mirror the openness and accessibility that is an essential characteristic of the Internet."

The Work Plan Subcommittee met twice this month via teleconference to devise a plan for the Commission's work over the next eight months. The public may listen live to the September 7 meeting through the Commission's web site, http://www.ecommercecommission.org.
