Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce
Selected as Outstanding Web site for 1999

Arlington, VA - February 14, 2000 - The Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce's Web site was among MuniNet Guide & Review's top sites of 1999. The Commission's Web site, www.ecommercecommission.org, ranked first in the Electronic Commerce category and was cited as having an "informative, well-maintained Web site."

"The staff at the Commission and in the Virginia Department of Information Technology has worked hard to make the Commission's Web site as informative, easy-to-use, and interactive as possible," said Heather Rosenker, executive director, Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce. "We are flattered and pleased that the site has been recognized as a valuable resource on the issues surrounding electronic commerce."

The site offers a wealth of resources, including Webcasts and transcripts from previous Commission meetings, a library of more than 200 documents submitted by the public concerning the work of the Commission, as well as an area for the public to register for future meetings, and to request e-mail notification on Commission news and updates.

MuniNet Guide & Review is a newsletter designed specifically for professionals who work in, research, or cater to the interests of state, county, and local governments and related agencies. MuniNet evaluated new and revamped sites over the past year, looking at the level of impact on the municipal landscape as well as the sites' ability to encourage interactivity.
