distributions made to BAbil and karbala for area projects

Al Hilla, Babil.  The Coalition Provisional Authority South-Central today provided around $350,000 (630,000,000 Iraqi Dinars*) to fund repairs in Babil and Karbala. 

The Babil Province received $100,000 (180,000,000 Iraqi Dinars*).  The money will be used to repair the Jezra Boys School and the Hilla Girls School.  The money represents a second payment.  As progress is completed, more payments will be made. 

The Karbala Province received $250,000 (450,000,000 Iraqi Dinars*).  The money will be used to repair the Shaykh Bridge, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, another hospital, repair of roads, and deconstruction of bombed buildings.  This money also represents a second payment.  As progress is completed, more payments will be made.

All of these projects will employ local people from the community.  The money is part of a larger initiative to help Iraqis as they move forward toward self-government and democracy.  CPA South-Central will announce other projects in the coming weeks
