distributions made to Wasit province for area projects

Al Kut, Wasit.  The Coalition Provisional Authority South-Central today provided about $538,000 (860,800,000 Iraqi Dinars*).  The money will be used for repairs to a hospital, agriculture building, engineering building, sewer station, community building, and a food rations building.  The funds will also purchase milking machines and a generator for the meat processing plant.

The projects will employ people from the local community.  The Wasit Province funding is part of a larger initiative to help Iraqis as they move forward towards self-government and democracy.
