Iraqi Business Center Now On-Line

Baghdad, January 22, 2004 -- Iraqi businesses that want to take part in reconstruction contracts in Iraq can now register at a new website.

The on-line Iraqi Business Center at brings together Iraqi businesses with corporations outside of Iraq who are looking to subcontract work to Iraqis.

The internet site allows Iraqi businesses to register important information so that they may receive solicitations to bid on contracts.

The site was created by the Coalition Provisional Authority and is managed by the CPA’s Private Sector Development office.

The site allows registered companies to see tenders from the CPA and from Iraqi ministries. It also allows Iraqi companies to request bids for products and services offered by companies in other countries or from other Iraqi companies.

Visitors to the site can also find a calendar of events important to the trade with Iraq. Visitors can also search the database for Iraqi companies who have registered with the database and see the information each company has entered.
