Columbia Accident Investigation Board Public Hearing


The Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST (11 a.m. - 4 p.m. EST) at the University of Houston/Clear Lake, Bayou Theatre, 2700 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, Texas.

The board's chairman, retired Navy Admiral Harold W. "Hal" Gehman Jr., and other board members will hear from individuals who have been asked to appear before the board to answer questions about the NASA Space Shuttle program.

The speakers include: Jefferson D. Howell, Jr., Director, Johnson Space Center; Ron Dittemore, NASA Shuttle Program Manager; Keith Chong, Boeing Company Senior Engineer/Scientist, Expendable Launch Systems; and Dr. Harry McDonald, professor of computational engineering at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.

NASA Television is the pool for the hearing and is broadcast on AMC-2, transponder 9C, C-Band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical and audio is monaural at 6.8 MHz.
