Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security - Nomination P004807

RE: Nomination of Ms. Elizabeth A Inadomi

Dear Secretary Clark,

I'm pleased to nominate Ms. Elizabeth A. Inadomi to serve as a Member of the Federal Trade Commission's Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security.

I've known and worked with Beth since 1993 when she was counsel for the House Committee on Science. She has extensive understanding and expertise in technology policy matters having served as counsel for House and Senate Committees, a NASA research center and currently, as an advisor to high tech firms in Silicon Valley.

Beth has consistently demonstrated her ability to bridge complex technological issues and advance public policy objectives. For example, she was instrumental in repositioning the encryption issue, which had become paramount to the high tech community and the Administration. She was nationally recognized in 1997 as a recipient of the Federal 100 Award, given for her contributions in setting a new encryption policy agenda.

I understand the issues confronting the FTC in its efforts to implement fair information practices and believe strongly that Beth will be an asset as a member of the Advisory Committee. I ask you to consider my nomination of Ms. Inadomi.

Sincerely,

Anna G. Eshoo
Member of Congress
