Re: Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security - Nomination, P004807

Dear Mr. Secretary:

I am submitting my own name and applying to serve on the Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security.

As to my personal credentials, I am enclosing a copy of my resumé, a copy of this firm=s technology group description, and two articles that I recently authored. In addition, I should mention that I recently was a part of a privacy panel presentation at the National Direct Marketing Association's annual convention.

My interest in serving on the Committee stems from my experience in serving a broad range of clients who have specific business concerns on online privacy issues as well as my innate desire to assist consumers in protecting privacy, as balanced and appropriate. Not only have I worked with those who profit from materials transmitted and published online, but I have worked with the consumer privacy advocates who are zealously acting to protect their own privacy. I believe that I can present a balanced approach and offer a willing and open mind.

Finally, I am enclosing a copy of this letter to Congressman Robert Ehrlich. Congressman Ehrlich is both a friend and a former professional colleague. Please feel free to contact his office for professional references.

Very truly yours,
David B. Hamilton
