President Signs Electronic Signature Act
The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act - signed into law on June 30 -- means that online contracts will now have the same legal force as paper contracts.

Join This Experiment in Interactive Legislation
Two senators launched a new website to invite public comments on improving electronic government. Senators Fred Thompson (R-TN) and Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) want you, as "digital citizens," to be partners in the legislative process. On this website, tell them how Congress can help create an electronic government and read what others are saying.

Adopt a Wild Horse Online
Hurry. You've got only a few more days to bid on the 44 horses (saddle trained, halter trained, mares with foals, studs and mares) and jack burros that the Bureau of Land Management has up for adoption online. If you miss this auction, bookmark this page and wait for the next one. See related story.

HUD's Web Clinics Help
Partners Build Web Sites That Work
The Department of Housing and Urban Development delivers most of its services via nonprofits, public housing agencies, state and local governments, and other entities. To meet the goal of electronic government, HUD's Web Team is teaching its partners how to create websites that deliver the services HUD funds. The goal is to use HUD's website to tell citizens about HUD-funded services and then link them to the service, provided through the partners' websites.
